I am jumping on real quick to give an update on Halloween 2017.
We celebrated in Charlestown again this year and had so much fun. There are so many young family’s and kids dressed up in costumes.
Emerson surprised me with how comfortable she was with all the Halloween madness. She quickly figure out how to trick or treat and was walking up to houses and sticking her basket out for candy. She has no idea what candy is but she loved getting things put in her pumpkin! It was so fun!
I am not a big, creative costume type gal but I love all Holiday’s especially one’s where you get to go out, have fun, celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. Next year I think we might have to have a family themed costume.
This weekend went by really fast! It was the first weekend in a while that we were home and it was really nice. We spent a lot of time together as a family and I also did a lot of yoga stuff!
On Friday night, my mom picked up Emerson from daycare and Vinnie and I went on a quick date night to the new Corepower Yoga Studio in the Seaport and then grabbed dinner at Empire. It was improntu and really nice.
On Saturday, I taught yoga in the morning and then we went to the Pumpkin Palooza at Lawn on D in the afternoon. We had no idea what to expect but it was packed and super fun. They had pumpkins there for families to carve, train rides, face painting and of course fall beer and yummy treats. It was a beautiful day and a perfect way to get outside and spend the Halloween weekend.
On Sunday, we explored a new park and hung out there for wayyyy too long. Emerson was exhausted but it was so fun we couldn’t leave. There were so many toys and kids to play with. We loved it and will absolutely be going back very soon.
Sunday afternoon, instead of watching the Pats game, I was in the yoga studio for 3 hours. We had a Q4 annual update teacher training meeting. It was actually a nice refresher and great to see so many of the other teachers. It can just be hard to give up so much time on the weekend especially when I only get 2 days to hang with my family. But, now I am super prepared to teach and that is a great feeling!
Tomorrow is Halloween. We did a test run in Emerson’s costume and she seemed to like it ok! She doesn’t love the hat but she wore the fox suit no prob. The tail gets me! She is going to be the cutest little fox!
This week, I am really trying to focus in on my diet and exercise. I have been letting it slip lately and I am determined to reset and restart. The Tone It Up 21 Day Challenge Round 2 starts today so I am going to try to use that as a guide.
My goals are to:
– Do the 21 daily moves, every day
– Pack my breakfast and lunch for work and eat only what I bring
– Cook my dinners rather than just snacking on whatever is around the house.
Cheers to a new week!
I hope you had a great weekend! I will be back on Thursday to share all about Halloween.
During the day, Daycare did a parade through our office so all employees could see the cute kids in their costumes. The infants were strapped into this awesome wagon-like thing that had seats. It was so cute! Emerson loved seeing all the people in the office and was super smiley.
Emerson was a pumpkin! I went back and forth about whether or not I should buy her a “real” costume. I opted not to spend the $$ and put her in a onsie we already had with a hat my aunt made and it was perfect!
After work, I headed to Charlestown for more Halloween shenanigans. I am part of the Charlestown Mother’s Association and during maternity leave would go for walks with all the moms that had babies around Emerson’s age. There are so many moms!! We made sure to take a picture all of the babies in their costume. It was adorable!
Family photo with our little pumpkin!
Lots of family came down to celebrate Emerson’s first Halloween. It was a beautiful night! I am already looking forward to next year when Emerson will actually be able to walk around and trick or treat.
This is my favorite photo and I just had to share!
Emerson has been on a tour of New England this summer. She has met almost our entire family, on both sides. We have been to Vermont, Long Island, New Hampshire, beaches, lakes, mountains and parks. Below are a few pictures from the first part of August.
My cousin Pearson married his longtime girlfriend, Lis, in a gorgeous ceremony in an amazingly beautiful location. Her dress is from BHLDN and was absolutely stunning! Family weddings are always so fun. Lots of drinking, dancing and late night shenanigans!

After a really fun weekend in Vermont to celebrate my cousin Pearson’s wedding, we all headed home. Abbi came down with her daughter Izzi to spend some quality time with our grandparents before she headed home to South Carolina. It was really nice to relax and catch up with everyone.
